A WOMEN'S RETREAT | EAST SIDE OF YOSEMITE

Yosemite National Park Retreat

Four days exploring Yosemite, based on the quiet side of the park.

Thursday, August 27 - Sunday, August 30, 2026

Small Group, Fly into Reno, We Handle The Rest

The east side is the quiet side.

You're in the alpine quickly, the air's cooler than the Valley, and most Yosemite visitors never come this way.

  • With faster access to the High Sierra, we’ll spend three days exploring the best parts of Yosemite National Park. Each day is led by a private guide who is an expert in the Yosemite history, geological sights and flora & fauna.

Hikes & View Points Will Include:

    • Tuolumne Meadows & Lembert Dome

    • Tuolumne Grove Giant Sequoias

    • Glen Aulin or Cathedral Lakes

    • Olmstead Point

    • Tenaya Lake

Plus a fourth day touring Yosemite Valley to view El Capitan, Cathedral Beach on the Merced River, Yosemite Falls and more.

  • We picked the lodging the way we’d pick it for ourselves - simple, close, easy.

A good bed, a quiet room and the high country right out the door.

You unpack once. The Sierra air does the rest.

  • We take this part seriously.

Three mornings start with mix of the cafés in town and continental breakfasts.

Lunches are packed for trail days with organic, healthy ingredients.

Two nights we cook dinner outside, somewhere with a view, the kind of meal you remember longer than the hike. And one night, the famous fish tacos at Whoa Nellie Deli, because some things you don't improve on.

(Alcohol's on you — but we'll know where to point you.)

    Want something fancier?

Instead of Whoa Nellie fish tacos, for those who'd like it, we take a table at Mono Inn for their tasting menu — the proper dinner of the trip, looking out over Mono Lake.

    Optional but worth it.

THE DETAILS

We sweat the small stuff so you don’t.

❋ The places

Special trails with no crowds, insider navigation to the best view points, and yes the day in the Valley that everyone dreams of - but we make it easy. Promise.

❋ The group

Six women, showing up like you are. Small enough that you have your own space but also by Friday you have a brand new circle of friends.

❋ The food

Trail lunches that impress. Coffee before you ask. Local meals that live up the legend.

❋ The pace

Slow enough to talk the whole way. Plenty of breaks for more photos versus big mountain summits.

For the woman who keeps meaning to go.

You've been meaning to do a trip like this for years.

Something keeps stopping you — the planning, the time, the quiet worry.

Here's the thing, this is the trip for the woman who wants four days in the mountains without having to become a different person to deserve them or take the time to figure it out.

You don't plan it. You don't train for it. You fly into Reno, and we cover the rest.

WHAT WE HANDLE

  • We’ll pick you up from the airport or your hotel, if arriving earlier.

  • Each day includes a professional wilderness guide who has expert knowledge of Yosemite and the High Sierra.

Next we’ll head up Tioga Road into Yosemite National Park for a late afternoon hike followed by a trail dinner.

Today’s hike will be less than 3 miles and fairly flat.

We recommend arriving to Reno, NV before 11AM to factor in any travel delays.

We’ll come back to our base and relax before dinner.

Dinner will be in town at a local favorite with the option to upgrade to something fancier.

DAY 3

This is our Yosemite Valley tour day. We’ll head off to the heart of Yosemite, stopping at popular view points along the way.

Minimal hiking today, mostly paved walkways and photo stops.

Dinner will be at an epic view point on the way back, catching the sunset over views of Half Dome.

DAY 4

BEFORE YOU WONDER

A few honest answers.

Do I need to be fit?

Day hikes are paced for the group. If you can spend a few hours on your feet on uneven ground, you're ready. No training, no overnight packs, nothing technical. The fast hikers go elsewhere. This is the trip for the rest of us.

Do we see the famous parts of Yosemite?

Yes. We're based on the quiet east side, but we give one full day to Yosemite Valley — the one everyone pictures along with the top destinations in the high country.

What's the lodging, really?

One simple, charming hotel, twenty minutes from the Yosemite gate. Clean, comfortable, unpretentious. Shared rooms with another woman — single supplement available.

Why Reno?

It's one of the closest airports to the east side, it is very easy to deal with (no big city crowds & outrageous lines) and the quiet way in. We meet your flight and handle the drive.

What do I bring?

Hiking shoes or trail runners, a daypack, layers. We send a short list once you're in. That's it.

Women only?

Yes. It’s our time.

What if flights require that I arrive a day earlier?

We’ll assist you with local Reno, NV lodging choices and things to do depending on your arrival time. We’ll also pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel as well as picking you up the day the trip starts.

What happens after I book?

After you book, you’ll get a link to reserve your pre-trip prep call where we can help you decide on flights, discuss your other arrival and departure details as well as any other packing questions you may have.

  • "What I love most is the that everything is planned out. I literally just needed to pack some things and show up."

    -Jane

  • "Even as a total beginner, I never felt this was hard. The guide was supportive and encouragement along the way made all the difference."

    -Tina

  • "This has been such a worthwhile investment in myself. I needed the break from my crazy life!"

    -Alley

For Your Outside.

Who We Are

We've spent more than two decades, combined, in the Sierra Nevada living, working, guiding, climbing, and learning Yosemite the slow way, season by season. Most of the year we run Alpinistas Adventures trips for people who want the boot beating treks & ultimate summits.

This is the premium and softer side of outdoor travel.

Same mountains, same knowledge but built around comfort, good food, and being looked after. It started with a simple idea our founder kept having on her own trips: time outside shouldn't always mean roughing & toughing it, and the details are what you remember.

So we built the trip we'd want to be on.
