In this program, you will learn how to:
Learn how/when/why we use ropes in mountaineering situations
Tie all the knots you’ll need to know for mountaineering
Learn the basics of snow protection
Learn how to efficiently travel on snow, both on a rope team and solo
Learn how to “recon” a route to assess conditions before climbing
Brush up on your self-belay/self-arrest technique
Climb steep snow and summit a mountain!
This program is jam-packed with all the training you’ll need to become a more confident mountaineer on snowy, non-glaciated routes!

Intro to roped snow climbing & steep snow.
Traveling in rope teams.
Types of snow protection.
Winter camping details.
Trip planning guidance.
Field Day
Outdoor session takes place in Northern California.
Knot instruction and practice
Team movement fundamentals
Rope systems and when to employ them
Snow anchors
Self-arrest and self-belay practice
Practice an uphill snow climb with roped movement + techniques
Route reconnaissance
Session will take place in Lassen National Park.
Inclusions:
Certified Alpinistas female guides (maximum client to guide ratio 4:1).
