  • This is a recreational, relaxing camping getaway. The style of hikes will be dependent on what the group wants to do and we can break into separate groups if we have beginners and then those more advanced.

  • Good fitness is not required to have fun at this camp!

  • Campground fun activities are accessible to all and we’ll have several options to choose from.

Accommodations

Rustic style shared cabin featuring twin size bunk beds in the same room for a group, hostel style, sleeping arrangement.

We will have two cabins, one is all bunk beds and one has a bunk bed plus full size bed in a separate room.

To reserve the separate full size bed, there is an additional fee.

There is no electricity, restrooms or water in the cabins, only propane heat. Drinking water, restrooms, quarter-operated showers and laundry facilities are located nearby at the campground.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Book stand up paddle boarding and get instructor led session.

Sessions available: Intro to Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Paddle Board Yoga

Sessions include paddle board and safety equipment.

Optional board rental for un-guided use available on location.

What to expect after you book your reservation

After you book your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Over the following weeks as you start to get closer to your event date, you will receive additional emails confirming packing lists, itinerary details and other important or helpful supplemental information such as start time and driving directions. The week of the event, you should be ready to go and you will receive a final email introducing your guides, providing you with their contact information and other last minute notes.

The meal options will be communicated to you in advance of the event and we will do our best to make dietary accommodations.

Your event does require a certain minimum number of participants to run. Don’t worry though, our group size is naturally quite small to keep it special and relaxing experience so the minimum booking requirement is also lower than other guide services.

Booking airfare?

If you are flying in for this trip, please contact us before booking airfare to make sure that your trip is confirmed. We require a minimum number of participants to operate.

What is the average age of attendees?

It is hard to know in advance the ages of attendees but our events do not discriminate based on age. We’ve had plenty of events that span the ages of 55 and older along with a much younger crowd. All that we ask for this event is that you are over 18!

Is alcohol allowed?

Alpinistas does not allow alcohol use while on guided hikes. You may enjoy BYOB at the campground, at dinner or on your free time.

Can we swim in the lake?

Alpinistas does not have lifeguards on staff and will not be running or overseeing any water activities. You are free to enjoy the lake at your own risk as it will be unsupervised.

General weather expectations

Lassen daytime temperatures can range between 75 to 85 degrees F, with overnight lows dropping to the 60s or 50s. Afternoon thunderstorms are unlikely, however, if we will notify you to bring rain gear if we see rain in the forecast.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend travel insurance to protect your trip in the event unforeseeable circumstances or illness comes up that interferes with your ability to join the trip.
