Everest Base Camp: Experience the Beauty of the Himalaya
The Everest Base Camp Trek is a challenging and rewarding trek that takes you to the base of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. The Alpinistas Collective offers women the chance to experience the beauty, culture, and excitement of the Himalaya with an all-female team. In addition to sending one of our own guides with you, we also partner with Sunita Tamang, a local Nepalese guide who owns a trekking company in Kathmandu. Stunning mountain scenery: Our trek offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. The landscape is dotted with glaciers, icefalls, and alpine lakes. These mountains soar at heights of over 20,000 feet - prepare to be in awe!
Unique Sherpa culture: The region is home to the Sherpa people, known for their strength, resilience, and hospitality. We’ll visit Sherpa villages and monasteries along the way, and learn about their way of life and traditions.
Rich biodiversity: Our trek winds through deep river canyons and mountainsides, all rich in biodiversity, with a variety of plant and animal species, including rare mountain goats, yaks, and Himalayan monals.
Tea houses and local cuisine: Our trek features numerous tea houses and lodges, where we’ll rest, refuel, and meet other trekkers. We’ll also sample local cuisine, including dal bhat (rice and lentil soup), momos (dumplings), and thukpa (noodle soup).
Base Camp: Our trek culminates in a visit to Everest Base Camp, where you can see the colorful tents of mountaineers preparing to climb the peak. Breath in the high-altitude air, take in the views, and relish in your accomplishment!
